WaveWare Communications Appoints Chairman of Board  
SAN DIEGO, CA - April 1, 1998  

WaveWare Communications, Inc. today announced the election of Dev Purkayastha to the position of Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Purkayastha is currently Chairman and CEO of Cosmoderm Technologies of San Diego. Formerly he was General Partner of Idanta Partners, a San Diego based venture capital firm.
