| WaveSync is a synchronization server and accelerator
for handheld computing devices that supports multiple users synchronizing simultaneously
with a central server. Because the handheld communicates directly with the server rather
than through a desktop, WaveSync improves the security and efficiency of remote handheld
device synchronization with databases on enterprise and Internet servers. WaveSync also operates more efficiently than Palm's HotSync over all communication links including the serial link from the cradle, wired and wireless modems, and over the Internet. Specifically, WaveSync accelerates synchronization by up to five times the speed of Palm's HotSync. WaveSync includes a robust network management tool which enables IT managers to quickly and effectively configure, monitor and manage the synchronization activities of large or small populations of handheld users. As the only synchronization server that respects Palm's conduit Application Programming Interface (API), WaveSync provides developers a path to transition applications to a multiuser server environment with little rewrite and no retraining. WaveSync's open architecture allows multiple users to simultaneously synchronize their handheld data with applications and databases from multiple vendors in a single synchronization session. |
